The art of chocolate

Challenge

A box of chocolates is one of the all time most iconic gifts – a pleasure both to give and receive.

Lindt has amazing pedigree in the category, producing well-loved assorted praline selection boxes for different occasions across a range of price points.

However, the last few years have seen a major shake up of the shelf, with new entrants and energised competitors providing unprecedented choices, squeezing out traditional favourites.

How can design be used to reestablish a brand as the leader of a bustling category?

Solution

Lindt are the true masters of crafting indulgent chocolate experiences, elevating a technical process to an art.

By delving deeply into these techniques we uncovered the critical role of marble – which due to it’s innate properties is used in the tempering of chocolate to the very highest quality.

We focussed on bringing this story to life, utilising the sensorial texture, exquisite finish and artistic connotations of the material to create an unmatched impression of elegant opulence.

“The work Derek&Eric did on the Lindt Premium Collection was refined, elegant, and full of care. They understood exactly what we were trying to achieve: a modern, gift-worthy range that still felt unmistakably Lindt. Every detail, from the foils to the structure, was considered and beautifully executed.

The final result has elevated the entire collection. And beyond the work, they were a joy to collaborate with. Full of energy, ideas, and genuinely felt like an extension of our team.”
