Challenge
Bitburger is a titan of the German beer-making craft, with their iconic Pilsner providing flavour filled refreshment for generations of thirsty Volk.
2026 has seen Bitburger reestablish their long-standing partnership with the German Football Association (DFB), just in time for the entertainment filled summer of football to come.
Our brief was to help spark the excitement felt by every true fan, by creating disruptive, collectable limited edition packaging that can be held and shared with pride.
How can design capture the spirit of a nation?
Solution
The German men’s national team are four time world champions, and the nation is longing to claim that tantalising 5th star.
Inspired by the iconic kits of historic wins, we channelled that glorious nostalgia to create a series of designs that each celebrate a treasured victory. The unmistakable use of white by both the Bitburger brand and German football shirts through the ages proving to be a match made in heaven.
Proud homage to the colours, patterns and typography of yesteryear bring those moments of exultant joy firmly into the present.
And who knows, maybe, just maybe, it can happen again…
